I have a 2002 Quicksilver G4/933 running the latest version of Tiger. It's been acting up recently, but I think most of the trouble is related to Eudora. I know Eudora has problems with Leopard, but I'm using Tiger. The machine has been crashing a lot, primarily when I'm in Eudora. Sometimes the window's close very slowly. Other times when I type fast, the program can keep up (it's like my old Mac SE/2!). Recently, it works OK, but in the middle of typing a message I get a spinning ball of death and the entire system freezes. I can't force quite Eudora, nothing. Any ideas? I'm wonder if it's Eudora (I've had problems with the settings file) or bad blocks on my HD. Or maybe another hardware problem.
Also, I'm ready to give up Eudora even though I love it. I check at least three pop email accounts and get hundreds of messages a day. Not a fan of Apple Mail. Any suggestions on an Eudora alternative?
Thanks!
