iPad evasi0n 1.0.4 crashes before finishing (on Mac and Windows)

See subject. On iPad Mini Retina w/ Cellular, 7.1 beta 3.

evasi0n crashes at "Modifying rootfs" (the last step), and then instead of Cydia, I'm left with the same "evasi0n 7" icon on my springboard that I had already tapped during the previous step. When I tap it, it just opens a white screen and freezes the iPad. The same thing happens on Mac or Windows. Any similar experiences?

can it jailbreak fine on 7.0.4 or 7.1 beta 2?

Solved my own problem. Had an OTA version of beta 3. Had to install a fresh version using a restore in iTunes.
