I could’ve sworn that creating an automation (Rule) in the Eve app populated the Apple Home app automatically with the automation as well. I just created a rule in the Eve app but it’s nowhere to be found in the Home app. I tried force closing the Home App but no dice. Is there a new setting to enable or a removed feature?

I believe they only show in the home app if they're "basic" automations. Eve lets you add multiple triggers and conditions that the home app is not set up to display or edit.

I did just try a simple "activate scene when I leave home" automation in eve, and it showed up in the home app.

Thanks for the input. This is an advanced conditional automation involving a LIFX switch. I could’ve sworn I had some in the past that showed up in the Home app as an incomplete automation but maybe I’m mistaken.

I liked being able to create the automation in the Eve app using a scene (since you have to use scenes with Eve) and then editing it in the Home app to use individual a la carte accessories. This way I don’t hit that Home app cap of 100 scenes.

Thanks again.

Automations modified in the Eve app with multiple conditions show up in the Home app for me, though what I do is make the automation in the Home app first and then editing it inside Eve since my automations primarily involve individual accessories and not scenes so the Home app is better to start with for me than Eve.

Out of curiosity I tried making a new automation directly within Eve first, setting multiple conditions and it shows up just fine in the Home app.

I don't know what to suggest here to help, but have you tried re-installing the Eve app so that it asks you to give it permission to access your Home data again just in case? Though I'm not sure if the Eve app will ask for this again or if it will already have the Home data access cached unless you perform a Reset Location and Privacy, in which case you can simply try disabling and enabling "Home Data" in Settings -> Eve.

Thanks for that. Yeah I could’ve sworn they showed up for me in the past. I tried force closing both Home and Eve and hard rebooting my phone. I can try uninstalling the Eve app. Didn’t think of that. Also if that doesn’t work, good call on starting it in the Home app and then editing in Eve.

The things I’m creating the rules for are LIFX switches. In the Home app, they can only be set up within the switch’s settings so I’d probably have to make something up and then completely rewriting it in Eve where the switch can be used in automations anywhere.

Thanks 👍

Ah ok, so I figured it out…

These automations I was creating in the Eve app (which I also tried in Controller and Home+) were for LIFX switches. The switches have either two or four button configurations depending on which one you purchase. I wanted to save the buttons by having only one button control the lights to go on and off and use the other button(s) for scenes and such.

In the Home app, the button press actions are configured in the switch’s settings, not automations. However, in the Eve app and other apps, this is configured in automations/rules. Therefore, I assumed that if I set it up in the Eve app under Rules, it would populate in the Home app also as an automation. Not the case…

The Home app is actually smart enough to add this to the switch’s settings instead of automations, which I prefer to minimize confusion. From there, I am able to remove the scenes and add accessories a la carte the way I originally wanted. Even better, the Home app also realizes that there was a condition set from another app and actually labels it as such. Low and behold, upon further investigation as I type this, the Home app actually creates a toggle for the condition. Never noticed this before (see pics below)

No clue why I didn’t check this before but I just discovered it and my problem has been solved.

Regardless, thanks for taking the time out of your day to reply. I do appreciate that!
