Aloha everyone,
I experienced a serious issue where my original iPhone 3G would reboot then literally dump all of the iPod content. Adding to my discomfort was the fact that all non-Apple apps would crash including the pay-for apps. I took my first iPhone 3G to my local Apple Store and the genius replaced it for me with no questions asked. He suspected that my backups were somehow corrupted and suggested that I set up the replacement iPhone 3G as a new phone.
Now, I am on my second iPhone 3G and life was sweet until tonight. My backups, after having set it up as a new phone, laster only 20 minutes (as opposed to almost 3 hours with the first iPhone 3G). Tonight, however, I started my backup at 2041 (8:41PM) and it's now 2153 (9:53PM) with the backup STILL not done. Furthermore, the backup got to about 70% completed, then dropped down to less than 50%! I'm not sure what's going on, but I may just have to take yet another trip to the Apple Store and get another replacement iPhone 3G! I just can't believe that I'm having this many issues with my new iPhones.
Has anyone else noticed this latest issue - that the backup will progress to a certain point, but regress to an earlier point before it completes the process? This is starting to drive me crazy.
