I go wayyy back to the 90s, using the many releases of Clickteam's tools for making games, starting with Klik & Play on the PC and working up to Multimedia Fusion 2 Developer, which I now use to make games for my home-built arcade cabinet. Back in the mid-90s, Europress Software released Clickteam's Klik & Play for the Mac, with one extra feature- the ability to convert games made with Maxis' PC version of the software to run (and modify) on the Mac. As a consequence, just about every game made on the PC with this software can be converted to run on the Mac. There are some great games that kids made in those days using this software (and some pretty bad ones as well), and it's cool to be able to play them on the Mac, and, if you knew how to use the software and wanted to, you could modify them to your liking or even make games yourself.
For those interested in playing some of the games made with the PC version of Klik & Play on the Mac, here are a couple of links to check out:
Klik & Play for the Mac
Kliktopia's K&P Section- Kliktopia is the largest aggregator of Clickteam tools' old games. This section contains only the K&P games, as the games made with later Clickteam tools cannot be converted.
A few great games to try out:
Atom Boy
Bazooka Jim
Begone 2 The Deep Darkness (RPG)
Destruction Carnival (AWESOME arena shooter)
Future Fantasy (RPG)
Future Fantasy Isle Excursion (RPG)
Tremor 2
Urban Attack Force
Just unarchive them, fire up K&P, select convert from the File menu, then select save as standalone game., follow the prompts, and play. If curious about how the games work, the editors within K&P can be navigated through. Have fun!
