So I believe I made a thread a few years back about stupid things we have done to ourselves when I broke my hand going to bed.

Here is my current dumb self injury. I was making spaghetti last night and had the water starting to boil but I realized that I over filled the pot too much. So my genius self decided to carry a hot pot of water with cold spaghetti in it over to the sink to drain some out. Unfortunately I slipped and managed to splash some scalding hot water onto myself. Oh to be in the house to hear that commotion. So I somehow put the pot down without spilling the goods inside everywhere and run out of the kitchen throwing my hot water soaked shirt on the floor. Got a nice red burn mark on my stomach and hands. Hurt like hell last night while I tried to cool down my burns. Luckily I managed to avoid blistering and it just feels like a bad sunburn at this point.

About 25 years ago, I got married.
no worries, we all get credit for time served , think of it as motivation :p

Ok the stupidest thing that hurts the most is having my sister catch me jerking off. It's happened not once but several times. I believe it coincidentally happened today but I'm not entirely sure she realized what i was doing (or about to do, as I thought I was alone).

Um.

Is this not something you ought to contemplate doing in private? As in, very private?

If this has happened on a number of occasions, might I suggest a radical re-think of the "whens and the wheres" of carrying out such an activity.

I think a family therapist could get plenty of sessions from this!
Might I suggest a lock on your or the bathroom door?

My thoughts exactly.

Once is an unfortunate occurrence, but repetitions......

Seriously: A lock on bathroom or bedroom door. And use it.

And - what age are you? That idiotic age where the mere fact that such change has occurred in your body is worth broadcasting to the world - and/or - the internet?

Found the perfect meme for it. :D

In the last couple of years it has become absurdly easy to dislocate my left pinky toe. First time was walking barefoot, where my toe curled under a little. From there it's downhill....next was landing in the sand after catching a frisbee. Next was putting on my boxers and my toe got snagged in the leg opening. Next was stubbing my toe on a coffee table.

Most recently it was attempting to slip into a sandal that wasn't cooperating.....that one really got to me of how absurd this is getting.

Not a stupid action(s) per se, but it sure does hurt. After a bunch of yelling, and popping it back into place, I sit back in disbelief and say "this is so f***ing stupid"

Ever tried walking into a full suitcase - well, walking through a full suitcase - en route from the bathroom, wearing little, not even your glasses?

My little toe was black for days after that one. Consultation with Mr Google was a little unsettling.

As I was observing an election in another country in a senior capacity - and it was my first day in the country prior to attending two days of briefings in the capital - I didn't dare tell anyone; the thought of being repatriated because of a broken toe was something I didn't think I'd live down, my colleagues would have been helpless with laughter - although I will admit that I was hobbling a bit for a few days after that.

Fortunately, I had a driver -in a BMW X5 - and that made matters a lot easier until my toe sort of healed.

oh man
do you happen to know an ointment called Lucas Papau? its the best for everything - burns, itches, everything

Of course. Well the homemade sauce was.

at least u got to eat it ... Could of been worse. and u learn from it

Sometimes i slam my fingers in doors accidentally. When it hurts i always tell myself 'i have learn't my lesson.'..

That is, till the next time it happens. Sometime my brain works better at technology than common sense :/

No, I suspect it is that your brain has been told that it doesn't need to concentrate on the mundane.

This has happened to me, too, usually when clipping toenails. I do not wish to embarrass myself by recounting how many times I have allowed my mind to wander while failing to focus while carrying out this task. The result is usually something rather copious and sanguinary.

Now, I do concentrate, and forbid myself thoughts of a political nature until the task in question has been concluded to my satisfaction.

I injured myself cooking spaghetti multiple times, even if according to the stereotype I should be a master.

The one I can recall is when I played soccer with a basketball ball. Barefoot. Broke my big toe!

Not really answering your question, but the other day I was able to cut my left index finger, and my right ear in the span of five minutes. I bled for like an hour.
