During a Phillies game on Tuesday, outfielder Jayson Werth's shot into the upper bleachers was caught by an overjoyed dad.

After celebrating his catch with fellow fans, the dad handed the trophy ball to his young daughter, who promptly tossed it away.

At least it was only a foul ball. If it was a home run ball, she wouldnt have got my hug. But still not cool.

I read about this earlier today. Congratulations to the dad for taking it in stride. Also, I read that someone from the Phillies organization came out and gave the dad another ball.

I saw this on Fox 5 (DC) this morning. I saw her throw it away, I was like "WOWWWWWWWW".

Then I turned to my brother (23), and said "If you ever throw a baseball I get like that back onto the field, I will murder you". He said he'd do the same to me :p

The announcers always say "Give it to a kid!" Well, this guy did, and look what happened. But, you can go your whole life without getting your hands on a foul ball. How does the dumb announcer know if someone has just accomplished a 30-year quest for the first time? I'm not giving my first to a kid. No way!
