I noticed this started the last couple days where my ATV would consistently pause for five seconds before playing every time I skip forward or back. It does it in every app so it’s not an app issue. My other devices don’t do it so it’s not an internet issue (plus for connection issues it would be weird for it to be five seconds exactly every time consistently). I tried restarting my ATV but no change.

Any ideas? Anybody else experiencing this?

are you airplaying your audio?
Yes I have my ATV set up with stereo HomePods, but I’ve had this setup for years with no issue. Do you think it’s some new bug? I suppose it’s worth switching to the TV speakers to see.

it's an airplay issue, it has a delay built in,

if it's much worse than before, try rebooting your router.
also have you added any interference sources (new electronics) or moved anything recently?

I just switched audio output to TV speakers and the delay went away. But the weird thing is when I switched back to the Homepods, the delay didn’t come back, so the issue is now gone. I don’t know if switching and switching back fixed it because I didn’t first test to see if the delay issue was there today. In any case, I’m very relieved it’s fixed now as it was extremely annoying. Thanks!
