After I first read this I was both hopeful that the look of iOS 7 might change, yet confused Jony Ive would even do this at first. But it makes more sense now. The "new blood" Ive wanted brought the crazy new look we know today. It's not perfect, not by a long shot, but Ive is a genius. The professionals (i.e. actual designers) will now refine it. They've been given an entirely new layout they need to adapt to. This is genius! It forces them to think differently from how they have the past 6 years.
That, or this is a false rumor.
I'm hoping for the former rather than the latter.
