hi
with the iphone 4 when you do a speed test on 3g does the data slow down or stall when you cover the bottom left antenna?
thanks

I can replicate the problem on mine every time, but besides that my ip4 seems to get worse reception when on one bar. In my gym I used to get 2 bars on my 3gs and would never drop or go out of reception. My ip4 only gets one bar (Im assuming on the "new" system where it's more accurate) but if I cover up the left side after a couple of seconds will go into no service. Also with the one bar it frequently will sit there when dialing out a call for a minute or 3 before it actually starts ringing.

I'm going to have to test the data out in that gym see how it is affected.

Yes and no.

90% of the time, absolutely not. However, if I'm somewhere that gives me a signal of worse than -90dB, then 3G performance is just about killed.

But how do you check the db stregth

My 3GS was jailbroken and this setting carried over when I transferred settings to my 4. So I get dB strength instead of bars. I don't know why this isn't an option by default, really.

So that noobs don't complain about something that they don't understand.....

Yes, especially upload speed.
If I only cover the spot with one finger, it slows down just a little bit. But if I hold it tight in my palm (really unnaturally tight), the speeds are about half of what I normally get.

What death grip?
