So I opened up my MacBook Pro (13", early 2011) earlier, about an hour after its last uneventful use, and from that point onwards everything has had a strong blue tint.

I went through the usual, checked the colour profiles, reset PRAM, etc to no avail. Applecare hadn't heard of the problem at all, basically asking me to repeat all the steps I'd previously taken. They booked a Genius Bar appointment, during which, from previous experience, I'm sure they'll probably be equally as baffled.

Before I go in, are there any further steps I could take? It's the middle term time and deadlines are drawing in so having the laptop out for repair would be a tad of an inconvenience.

Thanks all. I've attached some pictures as searching around for the problem people are generally a referring to a much more subtle tint.

Are you able to hook up to an external monitor to see if the problem persists on that one? (This requires an adapter which you might not have).

What happens if you create a new user account and log into that one?
