Everything Stored as "Other"

Went to sync my iPhone yesterday and noticed that all music and apps (blue and green on the storage bar) and even movies were stored as "other" (orange) on my Mac. Everything was still on the iPhone though.
Decided to sync anyway and it began adding everything AGAIN. Copying songs and apps, etc.
I did a full restore which took a while but fixed everything.
Weird, I was wondering if that's happened to anyone else.

that happened to an ipod of mine which had lots of updates, lots of firmware messing around, playing with automatic managed music and manual (lastly which i think was the main problem)

had to wipe and put it on fresh like yourself and all was good.
