Excel 98/VBA compatibility problem

I recently tried to port a VBA program from Win NT4 to the Mac, and discovered that the capability to view local variables was absent on the Mac version of VBA. The "View Locals" menu option present on the Windows version is absent on the Mac version. Am I missing something? Did MS really not implement this capability on the Mac port? If true, is the capability present in Office 2001? Thanks.
