Excel cell colors change at random when I download the file as attachment

For some reason, my excel mac 2008 changes the column color if i should download it as an attachment. Red becomes brown, yellow turns red, etc. Moreover, the original on my hard drive switches to this when I open the attachment as well. Weird.

If I quit and reopen excel, it switches back to normal however.

Any ideas?
