I'm not sure if this is the right place to post.

I noticed the other day when I was working on an excel file and saved it, the timestamp did not update with the new save. The file appeared not to be saved. I only noticed when I needed to upload the file to website, and I have to chose the file to upload. See uploaded pic.

The excel document is named "1A Test Excel file". Last save time is 4:01PM. This is showing the file in the dropbox folder, in the open dialog box to upload to a website. The highlighted file is the file as showing from the finder.

BUT, if I navigate to the file in the finder, it shows the UPDATED file. The files are saved on my dropbox folder. In the pic above you can see the timestamp of 5:25PM

This behavior only exists when the dialog box opens and I need to chose a file to upload.

I experimented with the same scenario and saved the file to my iCloud Drive, and the saved filed was available, with the correct timestamp.

So I guess the problem is with Dropbox. I made sure Dropbox is open and running and syncing.

Any thoughts on why this is happening?

Two different filters on the date column: date added vs last opened.

Change your view options. For Finder, View > Show View Options.

For Safari file dialog, four horizontal lines with the drop-down arrow when the dialog is open.
