Hi there,
I have Excel for Mac 2011 v.14.3.9
When editing the horizontal axis on a line graph there doesn't seem to be an option to "position axis on tick marks." In the windows version of excel I've used previously this can be found from the layout ribbon under Axes-Primary Horizontal Axis-More Primary Horizontal Axis Options-Axis Options. I just can't find it in my version or find a way to do the same thing and it's useful for constructing a frequency polygons. I'd really appreciate any help anyone can give.

Excel for Mac - axis issues

Are you wanting to shift where the X & Y intersect?

If you want to move the X-axis "up" on the Y-axis, right click on the Y-axis and choose format axis, then look at the 'scale' option and change where the "horizontal axis crosses at:' value to what you need.

HTH.

Thanks Chejux.
I gave your advice a shot but I don't think it's quite the effect I'm after. I'm basically trying to change where the numbers on the x axis are positioned. Currently they're in between the ticks but I need them to be directly underneath the ticks. The other versions of Excel I've seen have a simple selection you can make to make this change(as I've described above) but the in the version I'm currently using it's gone!

Select the x-axis

Select Format Menu -> Axis -> Tick marks

Deselect Major Tick Marks; Select Minor Tick Marks (outside)
