I don't use Excel very much, but today as I was using it to compile information. I did a simple "copy" command on one of the cells and I got this error. After the first dialog, 4 more popped up right after it. It doesn't do it every time, but it did it a number of times and it was irritating. It's not like it didn't issue the copy--the information was copied onto the clipboard; I just don't understand why I'm getting this error.

Any ideas why I'm getting this error?

As you can see I have plenty of free RAM, so that shouldn't be the issue.

Does this come up with a fully updated Office 2008? I think a update just came out a few days ago, you may want to try updating to it if you haven't done so.

Looking on the Excel and Apple forums, it seems like the memory error isn't really talking about RAM. Some link it to the fact that the Excel files that bring up the errors have macros & Office 2008 doesn't support VBA. You can try the "Open and Remove Macros" and see if that helps.

The error typically doesn't have anything to do with disk space or RAM - it
usually means the program is unable to access information it needs because
that information is not available (out of - as in "not in" - memory).
