My 2017 15” MBP told me the battery needed service — and it also seems swollen. I took it to Apple, who offered to repair it for free, although long out of AppleCare. During one month they tried to repair the computer 3 times, and each time it did not work properly. In the end they gave me a brand new 16” MBP. Certainly a big free upgrade!

Only issue is that I planned to buy a 16” M2 MBP when they come out. That’s hard to justify now. What a luxury issue!

This kind of service makes you stick with Apple. Other companies take notice! My new Tesla has lot of issues, but I have to sue them to fix it under warranty. My next car is not going to be a Tesla…

They screwed it up three times, depending on where you are located they are required to compensate you somehow. But still, other companies would have told you to pound sand.

True. Still, they did not have to repair it for free at first, and then they could have given me some refurbished computer.

I would classify that as good customer service. Apple did what was reasonable to compensate you for a damaged device. I don't believe you would have gotten that kind of customer attention elsewhere.
