Excessive MBP heat and battery life?

I was just thinking, batteries don't like excessive heat. MBP's do. Is there any possibility that we are all slowly killing our shiny LiPo batteries?
For instance:

Short battery life in model airplanes is more likely to be caused by heat rather than charge/discharge patterns. Keep the lithium battery cool.
