So I have dust under the screen of my 3G. If I wait until the stock of new 16GB 3G is gone, what will they give me to replace it? Would they have to give me a 16GB 3GS? An 8GB 3G wont hold all of my media.

The only other option I can think of is they would force me to take a refurbished 16GB 3G. But what if I refuse to take a refurb because I bought a new phone and it is still under warranty so I should get a new phone.

Anybody thought about this?

They will have to give you a refurbished 16gb or non refurbished 3g
They will always have them in supply

Youll get a refurb which is good as new. In your case it will be better because yours is about a year old and has dust under the screen.

I agree that a refurb will be as good or better but I was looking for a loophole really. For the sake of discussion, can I refuse a refurb and demand a new phone?

Also, I bought mine in November so do you think they will still have new replacement 16GB 3G when the end of my year rolls around?

Are those still brand new 1st gens or refurbs?

Has anyone ever been offered a refurb as a replacement and refused? If so I am interested to know the outcome...

If you refuse a refurb, I'm pretty sure they'll do a repair on it instead. They have no obligation to give you a brand new phone (especially a 3GS).
