What do you want it for?

Do you have another phone, does SMS matter to you?

I would say the iPad is the better device and would choose it a thousand times over a 3GS, but it really depends on what you want it for. Do you have a laptop? Do you have a desktop? Do you carry your laptop everywhere with you, if so, what do you use it for?

Yes, i do have a laptop and desktop and I'm trying to sell out my 3GS as well since I've already ordered for an iP4. Well, i do like to carry laptop or personal device all around. So is this the best way?

Also, the new iPad costs about 500$...so excahnging a 3GS is a good deal? thanks for your reply :)

With an iPhone 4 on the way, I would not hesitate to make that trade!

The new iPad won't be out for another 7 months. And it could possibly be like the update from the 2G to the 3G, they will add one feature they should have offered in the first place (a front facing camera) and call it a day. The real iPad refresh is probably either 19 months or 31 months away.

And it will most certainly be packing the Cortex-A15 MPCore CPU.

Do the exchange. It's worth it.

Hell, I wish someone offered me an iPad for my 3GS. Instead, I wound up selling it on ebay for $450 unlocked and jailbroken to ship it overseas. Wasn't a bad deal, but it's no iPad.

Sounds like a sweet deal. You'd only see $400 on eBay in mint condition. There are NO new iPads on the horizon!
