Exchange folder problem

For some reason, I can no longer access my Trash folder. The progress bar at bottom shows 'Connecting' and then I get a popup saying 'Cannot Get Mail. The connection to the server failed.' I have never had this problem before and I can access all other folders currently without this problem.
