Exchange iPad purchased from apple.com at a retail store?

My wife got me an 16gb iPad with 3g from apple.com. Yay!

Personally, I could care less about the 3g and would be happier with a 32gb or 64gb and pay the extra $70. Hopefully I can take it to my local Apple Store and they will exchange it... it is unopened.

Do you know if they exchange online purchases at a brick and mortar if we purchased it from apple online?

Give them a call. It's unopened so it's possible but the policy differs, some stores and reps are stricter than others because it causes them extra paperwork

If its unopened and within the 14 day return period, you may be able to return it.

I'd exchange it but for a different reason... keep a 3G model as you can't add it later...

I'd get at least a 32Gb or the 64Gb model as you can't have too much storage and she already paid for most of it so it will only cost you another $100 or $200 depending on the size you settle on...

...you never know when the 3G will be useful!
