Exchange Mail Flagging issue

Hi, I use Google's G Suite (Google for Business) which has Exchange/Activesync support for push email. I've set it up as Exchange in Mail.app. When I flag a message on iOS it's not starred in Gmail, or vice versa. I see the mailbox in Mail.app is being updated when I star a message inside Gmail, but it's not being flagged. Is this a bug in iOS11? I haven't used Mail.app for a while (been using Outlook app) but I started using it again. I don't remember having this issue before.

Does anyone else have this issue? TIA.
