Hi, I got a black wi-fi ipad for my birthday present from my brother in CA. However, I want to exchange it to the white one. I haven't opened the box.

Would I be able to just do a quick swap in the local Apple Store?

I don't know the order number and I don't want my brother to know that I swapped it. It just doesn't feel right for me.

Would that be possible? What should I say? Just be honest? I was afraid that I might look like someone who just stole an ipad and then want to swap it into a good one :D

Thank you!!

Just go to an Apple store and explain your situation.
If the SN is on the box, I believe they should be able to tell if it was purchased.

Absolutely correct, they can look it up by serial number and do an exchange, no problem.
