I received an apple watch as a gift but sent it in for a gift card inorder to get the larger size. They have had it since 10/6 but when i call for a status they tell me “9 more business days” sit tight etc. this is crazy to me, anyone else?

Sent them a return that they received on 10/9 and no word. I did a chat and they said they have it, which Fed Ex confirmed already, but I guess they are really slow this time around.

I guess it may take a while due to high volumes they get since some stores are closed so most are sending their returns via fedex.

Few weeks go I returned the watch via mailing it and it took literally 10 days to process the return.

Interesting, thanks for the info. I traded in my Series 3 via FedEx and they received it Oct 13. They started inspecting it the next day, and IIRC they confirmed the trade-in the same day or the next day. Still haven't seen any credit being applied though.

I talked to an Apple salesperson yesterday and she said that they could be backed up with returns and that I should be seeing something by the end of this week. She also mentioned that they typically quote 7 business days for the process to be completed.

I also haven't gotten any e-mails about the status of the trade-in. The rep told me that I should be getting an e-mail. Did you get any e-mails during the process, or just at the end when it was completed?

Keep in mind, given the pandemic, I’m sure Apple consolidated employee resources, which I’m sure that probably has an effect of why the delay is taking longer. Nonetheless, it’s going to require a bit more patience on your part.

After a lot of bs, “ill have manager call you,” i filed a bbb complaint thinking it would go no where. I got a call from apple the next morning who said if i dont have a gift card by monday to call her.

I just got off a chat and they told me it will be 10 more days, 2 weeks after they received it, according to the Fed Ex tracking I have. The specialist wasn't their usual helpful self either, almost rude, "you'll hear from us by 11/3, see ya".

Hey, I'm not the one whose online system was down.

Better not offer me a gift card either, I want my money back.
