My work has changed over to an exchange server and now I need to conrigure it for my mac. When I called the IT dept to do so they apparently won't allow us to access it at home with IMAP. Our only options are through entourage (expensive), through the web (bad), or through outlook (really bad). They also won't allow forwarding of mail. They do say that if I get a mobile device I can access it through that. When I go to the exchange webpage for my office it says it is a 2003 exchange server.

I really don't know that much about exchange but now I'm very curious. If I get an iphone (which supports exchange 2003 the way they want it), then why won't mac mail support it? Will Snow Leopard support it if they are saying the iphone is?

Hey there,
im sorry, but it seems that only exchange 2k7 is supported.
quote http://www.apple.com/macosx/specs.html:

"Exchange Support

requires Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 Update Rollup 4. Auto-setup requires enabling the Autodiscovery feature of Microsoft Exchange Server."

greetings
