Anyone else psyched that you’ll have one of the largest phone camera sensors (1/1.3~”) with them for the next year at least, and any and all photos you take will be that much higher quality? I take hundreds of gigabytes of photos and video per year.. so for me personally it’s amazing. Let me know what you think!!
 
Apple have really made strides after sticking with the little 1/3 inch sensor way too long (up to and including the iPhone 8/X). Embracing pixel binning and higher resolution images was the next logical step. I hope there will be an option for slightly higher ~16-20MP images in addition to the 12MP and 48MP full resolution outputs.

I completely agree… this is just a thought, but I wonder if there is a way that they can have a ‘variable resolution photo’ that is compressed more in some parts than others, and therefore a smaller size… essentially quality where you need it in the photo, and less where you don’t. Not sure if that makes sense… in any case I am loving the idea of a larger sensor & lense to resolve those megapixels!
