Hi Guys. I have enabled "store desktop and documents in iCloud" and im wondering if there is a way to exclude the desktop folder and just have the documents folder syncing? This is so I can work with large temporary files on the desktop without iCloud trying to upload it all constantly.

Ty!

I'm not aware of any way to do that, though it sure sounds like a basic capability to have. Maybe someone else knows...

You could set up your workflow so that the temp files are located somewhere else that won't be uploaded. An external drive would work, but it may be slow or inconvenient. Another idea is to use the Shared folder within the Users folder. If you use that I don't think you'll have to deal with permissions. (But if there are other users on the laptop they would have access to the files.) Then perhaps on your desktop make a Finder alias, so you can access it conveniently. (I'm assuming that while the alias itself would be uploaded to iCloud, the folder it points to would not.)
