excluding files/folders with Spotlight

Is there anyway to exclude sub-folders..?

eg. you only want to search the root folder.

I know you can add folders to Spotlight Privacy Preferences to exclude, but the search is not permanent.... only temporary...

Can you specify ... ONLY, specific folders ?
