I do a lot of video editing and mostly on my Mac mini. But I just got a new PC laptop I want to edit on. All my video projects are currently stored on external drives formatted for Mac. I plan to use both systems going forward. Seems like my only option is a new drives formatted exfat. Is this a viable solution? I edit in Premiere Pro.

It's the most practical option, but ExFAT is terrible when it comes to data integrity. One improper ejection of an ExFAT volume on a Mac can damage it enough to, in extreme cases, render the data unrecoverable. IMO, it is worth keeping a NTFS or HFS+ clone of any ExFAT volume using a program that can automate the process, like Carbon Copy Cloner or BVCKUP2.

Well that's scary. Thanks for the info though.
