Existing AT&T Plan

I already have an iPhone 3g and preordered the 3g s through Apple. When this ships to me, what steps will I have to take? Will simply inserting my sim card transfer my plan and number or how will that work? Or will I need to go to an AT&T store anyway?

if it being shipped ot you, you should be able to activate it at home.

Yes, but the email from apple stated they would send me info. about my new #, etc.

What I mean is, will my current plan (minutes, texting, data, phone #) all just transfer over if I put my sim card in the new phone?

A new SIM card comes with the iPhone. You'll need to hook it up to iTunes, log in to your account and everything will transfer.

Not sure if you can just swap SIM cards.
