Exit game kills Plantronics DSP 500

Whenever I play a game (wether it's Battlefield 1942, Raven Shield or Command & Conquer Generals) and then quit the game to do some work or do whatever, my mic is stuck. I can still hear properly, but the mic just 'stalls' or, hangs... You can't speak and the end of the line will hear a repeating sound sample taken during the exit over and over. It's really weird and very annoying. The worst part is everytime I play a game and then exit to do another game or do some work or chat with the mic, I will have to reboot my computer to make the mic work again. I'd really like some help here. (And don't tell me I need to replug in the USB cable, coz that will just crash my computer).
