This has probably been asked a load of times, but I can't seem to get the search words right to find it!

I've been running 10.4.10 on my powerbook for a while now. The one thing that still drives me insane and I can't solve is having the columns in finder expand out to the width of the longest filename. Everytime I have to double click the bottom of the column or drag it out to see what's in there.

According to everything I read, if you do this once for a any particular folder, it will remember this as the setting width next time you go to it. This is NOT the case! Everytime I go to any folder, I have to drag out the column to view the larger filenames.

Does anyone know a solution to this? Is there a setting I can change in the OS?

Cheers

Thanks for that, great to know.

It really does seem daft that no-one at Apple thought to put in an option to keep all columns opened to full widths all the time...

Oh well...
