Expanding Video Outputs on Macbook Pro, maybe OWC Adapter?

I have a C2D 2.33 Macbook Pro. I would like to use two external monitors to it and was wondering if anyone has used the OWC USB to DVI/HDMI/VGA to Video Display Adapter or can recommend another solution?

Excuse me if this is a stupid question but does using multiple monitors put excessive stress on the video card, making it more likely to fail? Thanks to any responses.
