Apple has a history of doing things like this where they do nothing or very little to the product one year and the next year they deliver something completely unexpected.
 
I'm inclined to think the line will remain exactly how it is today.

Now that the Zune is gone there are ZERO challengers to the iPod Touch.

Guess what else has virtually no competition? The classic and we know how much that gets updated.

Yeah I'm inclined to think they are just going to keep the iPod Touch how it is. Only thing I'm really interested in is a capacity bump and that probably won't even happen, not because of the cost but because they want to get people to sign up to iCloud.
