Experience with Applecare and a broken superdrive

My super has stopped recognizing cd's when I put them in. It will recognize dvd's but not cd's. I am about to call applecare about it and was wondering if anyone else has had their superdrive worked on. What can I expect as far as having to send my computer computer away?

I got my superdrive worked on and they completely replaced it on the spot and got it done within an hour while i walked around the mall

You got lucky compared to me... I had to send my computer off to get the SuperDrive replaced. Dropped it off at the Apple Store on a Saturday and got a call to come pick it up on Thursday.
