First post here, so please forgive any newbie mistakes.

I'm finally making the switch from PC to an iMac (most likely). I was looking at the 2.8 24-inch as the best option for me. If I can find one as a refurbished model,

(1) what experiences have you had with refurbished Apple/Mac products?

(2) Which retailers, other than the Apple Store refurb, have you used?

Thanks for all input.

Refurb Macs are always good value - I've been using Macs for around 20 years and all but one of the machines I've bought for use as my primary computer have been refurbs. They're just as good as new - the only real difference is the plain box they come in.

These days I'd always recommend buying refurbs direct from Apple - their prices are good and you know they've actually been refurbed by Apple themselves rather than by someone in a shed. ;)

In the past I've also bought refurb gear from Cancom, who are authorised Apple refurb agents and do a good job, but these days their prices seem to be rather less competitive than those from the Apple store.

Thanks. I saw one on the Apple Store refurbished just today. I'm waiting for my refund from the PC that I just returned to Velocity Micro.
