I've been looking at changing my contract to a sim only one and buying the iPhone sim free, that is, not software unlocked, but factory unlocked so it's useable with every network and can be updated with no problems.

Does anybody in the UK have experience of using one with Orange?
I'm not bothered about the 3G as I don't get it in my area or anywhere near me. Do you have to input settings to get voicemail, mms, and so forth working?

I've always had phones locked to Orange so this wasn't an issue, but they're not offering any decent phones (in my opinion, as they don't have any running Android nor the Palm Pre, which are all I'm interested in by now) at the moment, so figured I might as well get something that I want, not just a new phone for the sake of having a new one.

MMS you will need to put the settings in, voicemail works automatically when you press the voicemail button in the phone menu

And Orange are releasing a Android handset very soon, the HTC Hero

Yeah I've seen that....not a pretty phone is it.

Shame the HTC Magic is exclusive to Vodafone.
