iPod touch Export calendar and contacts

Is there a way to export my calendar and contacts? I would like some way to export these files so I can import them if I lose my itouch and/or my itunes becomes corrupted.

I have a gen 2 itouch with 4.1. I have itunes version 10. i run a PC with windows 7 and IE 8
