Hi friends!

Could use some help.

I am traveling with my iPhone and don’t have access to a Mac or PC. I need to replace my iPhone. I need to export my calendar entries from my old iPhone to my new iPhone.

Calendars in iCloud only keeps/transfers the last six months and next three years. I need ALL of my calendar entries on my new iPhone.

Anyone been through this? Any advice?

I mean surely there has to be an easy way to just export an entire calendar as an ics file right? Or maybe there is another solution I am not thinking of?

Sync it to Google Calendar.

Hrmmmm I don’t use any Google products for privacy reasons, and would really like to avoid this…

If I did go this route, what Google product would I need to download or sign up for exactly? (Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I haven’t used anything Google in nearly a decade now.)

Seems like not using iCloud for Calendars, correct? If so, Quick Start should copy over the entries from old to new if choose the "From Phone" option.

If using iCloud, can turn off iCloud for Calendar on old phone, choose the "Keep" option, do above. When back home, can then try to sort things out when have access to Mac/PC (eg. using iCloud restore/recover option for backed up Calendar data).

Along the same lines, REALLY need really old and really far out in the future events for the short term? If not, see previous paragraph.

Can use Shortcuts to get Calendar events and save them to a file. Should be able to then use Files app to select and use Share Sheet to open in Calendar (have exported events but have never tried to import via Files, have done it via Mac Calendar, Google Calendar, etc, anything that can import ics files).

Calendars in iCloud only keeps/transfers the last six months and next three years.

Never heard of this and never have experienced this.

iCloud, for me, has worked correctly when "All Events" is selected in Calendar options. Just tested it by creating an event five years out and one four years ago on my Mac, both show up in all Calendars and managed to find an event that's still on my Calendar from 2014(!). iPhone Calendar attached.

Just having a Google account is enough. You don't even need their apps. Grab a gmail address and it gives you email, calendar, contacts, drive, docs, etc. Then go to Settings-->Calendar-->Calendar Accounts and add your Google account on your phone. Sync your existing calendar to Google. Finally, double-check by going to calendar.google.com in Safari and making sure it is all there. I checked my calendar and I can still see every event from the past 10+ years.

Are you sure about iCloud only keeping 6 months' worth of event history?

I've just logged into iCloud online, scrolled back 5 years in the Calendar, and my events all show.
