I like the "Export for Web" option with QuickTime but I've looked everywhere and can't find what the settings are that it uses. I want to know if it would be better quality to export through Compressor?

I can't find a way to see or change the settings at which the different files are set to export. Is it one-pass VBR? Two-pass? Unless I know I don't know how it could be improved.

Also, I recently "exported for web" a 8:53sec 13.2MB H.264 QuickTime Movie. Since the file is so small anyway I planned on using the original for the desktop version but I wanted the iPhone and 3G versions. The iPhone version came out 34.3MB - 3x the original size!?! Even the 3G version came out 5.3MB which doesn't save much (and is only 176x132).

Obviously I didn't make changes to the export settings because I can't find out how to so I assume it's 'using current settings'.

Can someone please explain what I missing? Thank you
