So, I have created a playlist on iTunes. iTunes doesn't use 100% of the volume power that the internal speakers can, so I want to export the playlist into VLC. Maybe you can help me solve both problems, but I don't think that you can adjust the iTunes volume.

Anyway, so I want to export the iTunes playlist into VLC, but when I export iTunes playlist it puts it in a .xml file, while VLC only read .xspf and .m3u. So how do I go about moving the playlist without moving all the songs individually? I don't know why iTunes doesn't just make their playlist file compatible with all other software, wouldn't it be great to just have to point a software to the file and then have it synchronize (meaning i wouldn't have to update the other playlist if i made changes to one)?

I haven't tried this as I don't have a need to convert, but a quick Google search yielded:

http://www.xml.com/lpt/a/1495 - search the page for m3u (about 3/4 way down the page). Doesn't look too straight-forward though.

http://huangfamily.com/mark/2006/07/itunes_xml_to_m3u_converter.html - a Python script. Might be a bit more user-friendly than above.

Another suggestion is to search http://dougscripts.com/itunes/itinfo/info01.php to see if Doug has something.

hey, thanks... ill look into that :D I have 0 knowledge on XSLT and Python but maybe its time I learn hehe. Ill check out if Doug has anything first though
