I have a photo in iPhoto and when I look at the Information box it says the date is 8/2/2008 - which I know is correct.

But when I export that photo, using the option Kind = Original, the exported file has a created date of 10/4/2008. Why? (I did this today, and obviously if it was today's date it would be 1/19/2011.)

Also, when I look at all the versions of this file in the iPhoto Library (in the Original and Modified folders, as well as elsewhere) I see the 10/4/2008 date.

Is the original date the photo was taken embedded in the file? Is the second date perhaps the date I imported it into iPhoto?

Is there some way I can export photos from iPhoto so that the created date is the date the photo was taken?

Or, after I have exported the photos, is there some program I can use to batch change the create dates to match the actual date the photo was taken?

Thank you very much.

Thanks!
