Hi everyone,

I shot 16 x 9 footage with my Sony HDR-FX1. In Final Cut Pro HD it shows that it is true 16 x 9. (The image wireframe does not contain any letter boxing / black bars.) Now here is my problem:

How can I export this in widescreen format? Everytime I export the footage it renders the black behind my footage. (Giving it letter-boxing.) What do I need to do in order for it to display correctly?

Thanks,
Cody

Try fooling around with the Sequence Settings, look up on the menu bar. Make a short 20 sec sequence test clip and work with the settings until you find what you need to get it like you want it. I had to do the same thing last week, just had to try a few things until it looked like I wanted.

Thanks!! That worked! I never even knew about Sequence > Settings. Looks like I was shooting 720 x 360 video. It works great now. Thanks again!!
