Exporting a .jpg from iphone

So, my dillema is that my friend sent me a picture from her phone, and its in .jpg, it shows up fine in the text window. but when I try to save it to my photo library on phone, its just a white box with '.jpg' and iphoto won't have nothing to do with importing it either. Is there any alternatives to get this photo off my phone and onto my mac? I really want to save this photo...and no its not a nude.

Have you tried emailing it to yourself? I have saved many .jpg files to iphoto through email.

It won't save correctly, thats the problem. But I did figure out a solution for those of you who may be having the same problems.

Simply view the photo, clear the screen of the bottom and top bar, and make a screenshot. by holding the top botton as well as home button. WORKS PERFECT
