Does anyone know if you can export the adium transcripts or where they are saved? I want to do a fresh install of OS X and want to keep my logs.

Was googling for the same info and came across your question. Ended up finding it myself. The logs are in the folder:

Library/Application Support/Adium/Users/USER/Logs

I haven't done the clean install yet but I assume you can just throw them in the same folder after installing adium again.

Ya shortly after my post I found them too. After I reformatted, I simply put the old logs in the same directory and it worked out fine :)

I hate having to go in adium to view my chat logs. I'm saving all my chat logs on an external hard drive since 2006. So, having to put them back in Adium is quite a pain in the ass. Isn't there a way to export them to a XML or HTML format like WLM?

Me too. I also want to export them and also have sync feauture with other logs from the second machine.

You can save logs by clicking "Print" from the Adium chat transcript viewer and choosing "Save As PDF" from the PDF drop-down menu on the window that appears. I would personally prefer HTML or RTF, but hey, it's something.

I've been searching for about an hour on a way to convert chat logs to PDFs or something (.txt?) not requiring Adium or other special software to view. I have about 5,200 logs I'd like to convert. Does anyone know if this could be accomplished with Automator in a way that would keep the same filename as the chatlog file (it contains the date info).

Thanks!

Depends open terminal and use.

Code:
cat /path/to/adium/chatlogs/individual_chatlog

If you see just text scroll by then most likely a bash script and a for loop would do what you want, if it is binary junk good luck.

Edit: BTW since I just noticed necro posting is not the best idea usually you should start a new topic in such a situation.
