I need some help here. I am working on my video podcast in Final Cut Pro. I have all my footage on my MiniDV camera (Panasonic PV-GS500).

Problem 1 Capture

My camera can capture either widescreen or regular 4x3 but I decided to film everything in 4x3 for this particular podcast. When I capture everything into Final Cut Pro, it's imported as 720x480 (I don't think this is 4x3, shouldn't it be 640x480?). Should I change something to import it as 640x480 and if yes, where is it and do I have to reimport everything?

Problem 2 Exporting

I don't really know in what format to export it. I tried a lot: using Compressor, QuickTime Movie, using QuickTime Conversion. The results: it either looks awful or the files are huge! I looked at MacBreak Podcast and it looks awesome and the file size is very good. What kind of encoding should I be using?

Thanks,

Frederic
