Exporting IDVD files to Quicktime

How can I convert a IDVD file (.proj) into a quicktime file I can edit in IMovie? Can I do this with the entire file? Can I do this with just elements (slideshows created within IDVD)?
 
iDVD takes QuickTime-compatible files and converts them to DVD. Why would you ever need to reverse the process?
