Hi Guys

As i'm running out of HDD space on my 2012 MBP, can I export my iTunes library to an external HDD and when launching iTunes it always looks at the Ext HDD????

Is this even possible and is there any disadvantages to doing this????

Thanks

Hay

That's how I do it.

on my Mac Pro....my iTunes/Media library is on a separate HDD
on my MBA....my iTunes/Media library is on a portable USB3 HDD

You can keep the iTunes folder in your ~/Music location. Just change the iTunes settings where it keeps Media and make sure it "keeps media organized" which is a check box.
